joule tallman - vocals, guitar / Riley Tubbs - Guitar, Mandolin, bass, vocals
Genre: alt-country/folk/roots seasoned with a healthy dose of bluegrass
Reference Points: The vocal stylings of Joule Tallman have been likened to Bonnie Raitt and Sarah MacLaughlin, while Riley Tubbs brings his Don Julin (Billy Strings) inspired, Sam Bush-style mandolin picking and iconic double bass slapping inspired by Lee Rocker, Roy Husky Jr and Willie Dixon. Speaking of Willy, the Nelson has had a huge influence on Riley's guitar picking, and he brings a nylon string classical to compliment Tallman's steel string rhythm.

Bio
Short (49 words):
Tubbman Junction will take you on a harmonious journey through life on the land with original classics and old alt country folk roots favorites. A multi-instrumental duo with a heart connection you can’t help but feel through their tight harmonies, infectious humour, and shared reverence for stuff that works.
Medium (207 words):
Tubbman Junction is an acoustic duo with Singer/Songwriter Joule Tallman, who hails from the dusty plains and dense forests of north central Saskatchewan, and multi-instrumentalist Riley Tubbs, whose roots dig deep into the foothills around Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Riley is best known for his unequaled upright bass playing & vocal harmonies with the likes of Tim Hus & Allen Christie. With a laugh and raw honesty, they will draw you in for a journey like none other, in a way that only the greatest of folk storytellers can.
Together Tubbman Junction have been touring their stories in rhythm & song around the prairie provinces for the past two years, and are currently working on their debut release - Tales From the Trunk - a folk country album well seasoned with bluegrass & time.
This prairie/mountain fusion brings a solid offering of original songs born of life on the land, along with a smattering of classic country duets and salt of the earth folk tales from the likes of Guy Clark, George & Tammy, Gillian Welch and more. They are touching audiences across Canada with their soul connection, strong lyrics, tight harmonies and melodic contributions on mandolin, guitar, and bass. Tubbman Junction leaves you feeling like you are a part of something beautiful.
Long (319 words):
Tubbman Junction is a rich stew by the fire, or a cool drink on a warm summer day. Local & homegrown, natural & organic, wholesome, hearty, desirable, delicious, stick to your ribs kind of goodness. Join Joule & Riley on a harmonious journey through life on the land with original classics and alt country folk roots favourites.
Long ago and far away in a land before time & babies, Joule & Riley met on a weekend of shared gigs while her duo, Born Trouble, opened for Tim Hus, who Riley was touring with at the time. Life intervened and Joule hung up her guitar soon after as creative energy flowed in a different direction. After a dozen or so years of musical abstinence, just as Joule was dusting off old songs and working out her chops, Riley dropped in with an interesting offer of collaboration. With a shared reverence for the likes of John Prine, Gillian Welch & Emmylou Harris, they began their journey together, immediately performing at Eliza’s Barn Burner (2023) to rave reviews from a receptive audience. Not willing to let a seven hour commute get in the way of a good time, they got right to work on their repertoire. A few months later Tubbman Junction was born, and festival appearances at Ness Creek, Doylefest and Northern Lights Bluegrass & Old Tyme Music Festival were confirmed.
The duo is known for digging into your deep feelings like digging into the dusty old trunk where songs have been stored for a decade, bringing tears on the heels of smiles and healing hearts with a soul connection that can only be described as electric, acoustically. “We are working now on finishing up our first full length EP so we will have something lasting you can take home when we can’t be together,” shares Joule. From fundraisers and intimate kitchen parties to festivals and campfire stages, Tubbman Junction is all the places we meet.
